the funniest thing i heard on the radio this morning...

went something like this:

Imagine a gathering of Mozart, Sophocles, Plato, Aristotle, Thomas Jefferson, and Madame Curie. That's what it was like yesterday when Diane Sawyer sat down with the cast of Ocean's Twelve.

then again, if that means brad pitt will be sporting a colonial cut and george clooney will be wearing a buskin, that's good enough for me.

I can only image what Plato's reaction to being compared to an actor would be. Great blog BTW.

hey, thanks--i was actually considering contacting you at some point in the future due to the fact that you're working on claudian and i also have a (growing) interest in late antique poetry. i couldn't hear your paper at brown earlier this year because i was speaking on a different panel, but i'd be interested to read it sometime if you wouldn't mind.

Eric,

I'm presenting a revised (albeit abbreviated) version at the APA in January. I'd be happy to forward you a copy and would very much like to hear about your interests in Late Antiquity. Drop me an email: bmulligan@brown.edu.
